Exercising Without Really Doing It
Have you guys heard of the phrase non exercise physical activity or NEPA?
The term refers to the unplanned physical activity you do throughout the day. Unlike a regular workout routine wherein you exercise at a given time, non exercise physical activity accounts for the normal things you do – cleaning the house, putting the garbage outside, and mowing the lawn.
These activities are often low intensity cardiovascular work but they do add up, you know…and you can see that for yourself if you increase your non exercise physical activities.
Take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk if your destination is not that far (such as the grocery at the street corner, for one), mow your own lawn, walk your dog, go for a swim – it doesn’t have to be intensive and time-consuming.
Increased physical activity has many benefits and increasing your physical activity means a healthier life. You are burning calories without putting too much thought on the matter, getting rid of those unwanted body fat while doing something you like doing.
Physical activity and a healthy diet will allow to enjoy life better and longer.
